Terri Garber Undressed
Terri Garber (born December 281960 in Miami, Florida) is an American actress.
Her acting debut was in 1982, when she played ''Allison Linden'' on the soap opera ''Texas''.
After several other, more minor roles, in 1985 Garber landed the role of her lifetime in the miniseries ''North and South'' based on the novel by John Jakes. The 6-part serial, with a running time of 90 minutes each, dealt with the society in both north and south before the American Civil War and was aired by ABC TV. It was a huge success and names like Patrick Swayze, James Read, David Carradine, Jean Simmons, and Lesley-Anne Down starred in it.
Terri Garber played Ashton Main, a young and seductive "Southern belle" and serial-sister of Patrick Swayze. Ashton was spoiled, arrogant and mean. She had a cold personality and supported slavery. Ashton's evil, scheming and diabolical behaviour was the reason for Terri Garber to get noticed and the role of Ashton is - until these days - the one she is internationally known for.
In 1986 ''North & South'' was continued with its sequel ''Love & War'' (the second book by John Jakes). The book was adapted as another 6-part-series entitled ''North & South: Book 2'' and it was also aired by ABC. Terri starred as Ashton once again who was now married to James Huntoon, a political engaged man. She had some more intrigues to commit and a passionate love affair with her brother's nemesis to do. But the (actually) final miniseries had a bad ending for Ashton for all her bad deeds were revealed, her brother cursed her for them and her husband divorced her.

Thanks to ''North & South'' Terri Garber had gained success in the TV business and in 1987 landed a role in the hit primetime soap Dynasty by Aaron Spelling. There she played Leslie Carrington and lasted until 1988.
After ''Dynasty'' she landed roles in two other successful soap operas, ''Santa Barbara'' (from 1991 to 1992) and in ''General Hospital'' (in 1993).
In 1994 Terri once again slipped into the role of the intriguing Ashton in the last sequel of the ''North & South'' trilogy which was titled ''Heaven & Hell''. Although its prior serials were highly successful, the last adaption of the trilogy, which was also aired on ABC, was not that successful with the fans.
Terri was recently in a recurring role (ended in November 2005) on the CBS daytime soap ''As The World Turns'' in which she played "Iris Danbrowski". She also is a successful real estate agent.
